An English breakfast cooked on the barbecue
Aussies love their eggs and bacon.
When done on the barbecue using the grill, plate or pan it becomes an Aussie English breakfast. Add some beetroot relish and there can be no argument as to ownership.
You can make it for breakfast, lunch or dinner, so bring it on mate.
Prep and cook time 20 minutes – Serves 4
Ingredients you will need
- 50g butter
- 8 eggs
- 8 chipolata sausages
- 4 rindless bacon slices
- 300g button mushrooms
- 2 medium tomatoes, each cut in half
- A tablespoon of fresh thyme leaves
- A tablespoon of vegetable oil
Method – 7 easy steps
Step 1 – Make some beetroot relish
Step 2 – Fire up the barbecue.
Step 3 – Oil the flat plate, add butter and cook mushrooms until tender. Keep warm in a covered saucepan.
Step 4 – Now cook the sausages, bacon slices and tomato until ready.
Step 5 – Add the eggs and cook them to your liking.
Step 6 – Serve the mushrooms, sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and beetroot relish on a bread roll or toast.
Step 7 – Still hungry for some more Aussie English breakfast, then simply repeat.
